Talwar Foundation is a non-profit charitable organization registered under Section 80G (V) of the Income Tax Act, 1961, dedicated to the holistic upliftment of underserved and marginalized communities. Guided by the principles of compassion, dignity, and sustainable development, the Foundation works tirelessly to create meaningful and lasting change in the lives of those who need it most.
Founded in 1981, Talwar Foundation stands as a testament to the vision, humanity, and selfless service of Late Shri O.N. Talwar, whose commitment to social welfare began much earlier. His heartfelt mission focused on empowering girls from the slum areas of R.K. Puram, who were struggling against extreme poverty, social neglect, and limited access to education and basic resources.
What began as a small, community-driven initiative rooted in empathy soon evolved into a lifelong mission. Shri O.N. Talwar believed that education, care, and moral support could transform lives, especially for young girls who were often denied opportunities simply because of their circumstances. His unwavering dedication laid the foundation for an organization that continues to serve society with integrity and purpose.
The core objective of Talwar Foundation is to enable underprivileged children to
overcome the social, economic, and cultural barriers that restrict their access to
education and a dignified standard of living. We strongly believe that education is the
most powerful tool for breaking the cycle of poverty and building a better future.
A special focus of our work is on the empowerment of girls from deprived families and
challenging social backgrounds. By ensuring access to quality education, emotional
support, and guidance, we help young girls develop confidence, independence, and
self-belief. To further strengthen self-reliance, the Foundation has introduced
vocational training programs that equip individuals with practical, income-generating
skills.
To uplift underprivileged children and women by providing access to education, healthcare, and skill development, enabling them to lead self-reliant and dignified lives.
To build an inclusive society where marginalized individuals are empowered with equal opportunities to grow, thrive, and actively participate in the nation’s progress.
Compassion, integrity, transparency, and inclusivity guide every initiative we undertake, ensuring long-term and meaningful impact.
At Talwar Foundation, we work at the grassroots level to uplift underserved communities by addressing their most pressing needs. Through education, healthcare, skill development, and awareness initiatives, we strive to restore hope, dignity, and opportunity for a better tomorrow.
